The balance of energy is thought to be restored when the needles are inserted and left in place. The needle points will be different according to a patient’s particular health problem. A qualified acupuncture practitioner will know exactly where to place the sterile needles, but be aware that they may not be placed at the site of the problem. For example, if you suffer from stomach problems the acupoints for the stomach will not necessarily be found in that region of the body.
