When applying the cream make sure it covers the entire area to a depth of approximately 1/16th of an inch (or 1.5 mm). If you accidentally wipe some of the cream off make sure to add more. Once the area has been treated it does not have to be covered unless a doctor instructs a patient to do so. Silver sulfadiazine topical should always be stored at room temperature because heat and moisture are not good for it.
